Botox

Consultations offered at our two convenient locations in Las Vegas, NV and Beverly Hills, CA

Botox is a neurotoxin that helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing the underlying muscles. It’s often used for aesthetic purposes, but it can also treat medical conditions such as migraines, excessive sweating, and certain muscle disorders. Botox works by blocking the signals from the nerves to the muscles, allowing for smoother, more relaxed skin. Its versatility makes it a go-to treatment for individuals seeking both cosmetic and therapeutic benefits.

BOTOX® is a popular non-invasive treatment for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, especially around the eyes and forehead. Administered by Melanie Speed, APRN, NP-C, CANS, BOTOX® helps achieve a smoother, more youthful appearance with minimal downtime. Schedule your consultation today at Flawless MedSpa in Las Vegas to discover the benefits of BOTOX® for a refreshed look. For more information, contact us. We are conveniently located at 9418 W. About Botox

Botox injections relax certain muscles that cause wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes, eyebrows, and forehead. In this way, Botox injections prevent wrinkles from occurring prematurely and also give your skin time and space to smooth out wrinkles that are already present in the treatment area.

Botox is made from a bacterium known as Clostridium Botulinum, which has various types. The type used in Botox injections is known as Botulinum toxin type A. This ingredient works as a Neuromodulator, which is a substance that disrupts signals from neurotransmitters, also known as nerve signals. With Botox, the neuromodulating ingredient disrupts nerve signals from targeted muscles in the treatment area that contract with various facial expressions.

As mentioned, Botox helps with wrinkles by disrupting the nerve signals that are responsible for muscle contractions from our facial expressions. These muscle contractions play a key role in the development of wrinkles on our faces.

As we age, our body produces less collagen and elastin—two proteins instrumental in keeping our skin firm and full of elasticity. When your skin has these proteins healthy, it easily bounces back into its smooth form after you make a facial expression. When your skin lacks collagen and elastin, our repeated muscle contractions from facial expressions cause wrinkles and fine lines to settle in as our skin has more difficulty bouncing back into form.

That’s where Botox comes in. Botox gives your skin more time to bounce back into form. Moreover, it prevents new wrinkles from forming during the timeframe that your muscles in the treatment area are resting from any activity.

According to the FDA, Botox injections can safely treat wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes, eyebrows, and forehead. These types of wrinkles include crow’s feet lines, forehead lines, and glabellar lines — also known as frown lines.

While Botox can help with many types of wrinkles, it is best suited for dynamic wrinkles, or those that appear when you make different muscle movements when laughing, smiling, concentrating, squinting, or raising your eyebrows. Botox can also help with static wrinkles or those that are present when your face is at rest. However, it is more effective at treating dynamic wrinkles than static wrinkles.

Botox is also limited in effectiveness when treating severe, deeply set wrinkles. In these cases, Botox may soften their appearance but not eliminate them entirely. For more severe wrinkles, your provider may recommend a combination of Botox and dermal fillers to help you achieve satisfactory results.

At Flawless MedSpa, we are proud to provide Botox injections at affordable rates. We also offer payment plans to help make the cost of Botox more manageable for you.

Botulinum toxin, or botulinum neurotoxin (commonly called botox), is a highly potent neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum and related species. It prevents the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from axon endings at the neuromuscular junction, thus causing flaccid paralysis. The toxin causes the disease botulism. The toxin is also used commercially for medical and cosmetic purposes.

In cosmetic applications, botulinum toxin is considered relatively safe and effective for reduction of facial wrinkles, especially in the uppermost third of the face.

Perfect for:

  • Frown lines
  • Brow lift
  • Crows feet
  • Glabella
  • Sunken cheeks
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Marionette lines
  • Sunken cheeks

Conditions treated

  • In cosmetic applications, botulinum toxin is considered relatively safe and effective
  • Injection of botulinum toxin into the muscles under facial wrinkles causes relaxation of those muscles, resulting in the smoothing of the overlying skin.
  • Smoothing of wrinkles is usually visible three to five days after injection, with maximum effect typically a week following injection.
  • Muscles can be treated repeatedly to maintain the smoothed appearance.

Standard areas for aesthetic Botox injections include facial and other areas that can form fine lines and wrinkles due to everyday muscle contractions and/or facial expressions such as smiling, frowning, squinting, and raising eyebrows. These areas include the glabellar region between the eyebrows, horizontal lines on the forehead, crow’s feet around the eyes, and even circular bands that form around the neck secondary to platysmal hyperactivity.

Botox offers a wide range of aesthetic and therapeutic benefits, making it a popular choice for many. Here are some of the key advantages:

Candidates

As one of the leading medical spas in Nevada, Flawless MedSpa has had the privilege of treating thousands of Las Vegas Botox patients. Below are the ideal candidates for Botox treatment:

  • Individuals with fine lines and wrinkles on the forehead
  • Patients with crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Those with realistic expectations about the results
  • Clients who are well-informed about the capabilities and limitations of Botox
  • Adults of both genders who seek a non-invasive cosmetic solution

If you’re seeking a way to address these concerns with minimal downtime, Botox may be an excellent option for you!

Procedure

The Botox procedure is quick and minimally invasive. Using a fine needle, Melanie Speed, APRN, NP-C, CANS, will inject small amounts of Botox into targeted areas, such as the forehead or around the eyes. To ensure comfort, we offer a topical numbing agent prior to the injections. While some patients may experience mild bruising or tenderness, these symptoms typically subside within a day or two. The procedure itself usually takes less than 15 minutes, and there is no need for recovery time.

Xeomin

Xeomin is a highly effective injectable treatment available in Las Vegas, commonly used to target frown lines. Like BOTOX®, Xeomin is a botulinum toxin, but the key difference is that Xeomin does not contain the inactive proteins found in BOTOX®. This makes Xeomin a pure form of botulinum toxin, which can be appealing for clients seeking a more refined option. The procedure is quick, typically taking under 15 minutes, and requires no downtime, allowing clients to resume their daily activities almost immediately.

Dysport

Dysport offers a natural-looking, fast-acting, and long-lasting alternative to BOTOX® for those seeking a refined cosmetic solution. Melanie Speed, APRN, NP-C, CANS, may recommend Dysport over BOTOX® depending on the treatment area, with frown lines between the eyebrows being a common focus. This injectable is designed to provide smooth, youthful results with a recovery time similar to other injectables, allowing patients to return to their daily routines right after treatment. The cost of Dysport will vary based on the specific areas treated, and it’s best to discuss pricing during your consultation with Melanie for a tailored estimate.

Cost

Botox is a well-renowned procedure, helping people of varying ages maintain a confident, youthful appearance. The cost of Botox varies depending on how many units you need injected for satisfactory results. In Las Vegas, NV, Botox typically costs between $10 and $25 per unit. At Flawless MedSpa, our professional team ensures a personalized approach to achieve the best possible outcome for you.

Botox is priced per unit that is injected. In Las Vegas, NV, Botox typically costs between $10 and $25 per unit, with total treatment expenses ranging from $300 to $800 per session, depending on the number of units required and the treatment area. As such, the cost of Botox varies depending on how many units you need to be injected for satisfactory results. Most clinics set their own prices for the price of Botox units. These prices vary depending on the clinic location and the provider’s expertise. Clinics in larger city centers tend to have higher rates due to increased competition. Moreover, providers with greater expertise may charge more than those with inferior credentials or experience.

While it is ultimately up to you whether you think Botox is worth the cost, many patients find that it is! Botox is a great option as a preventive treatment for wrinkles and can also help with existing wrinkles and fine lines.

Recovery

One of the key benefits of Botox is its minimal recovery time. Most patients can resume their daily activities immediately after the treatment. There may be some slight tenderness or redness at the injection sites, but this typically resolves quickly. Our team will provide you with instructions on aftercare to ensure the best results, which include avoiding rubbing the treated areas and lying down for a few hours post-treatment.

Washing your face

After receiving Botox injections, it is generally recommended to wait several hours before washing your face to allow the treatment to settle properly. When cleansing your skin, use gentle motions and avoid rubbing, pressing, or applying unnecessary pressure to the treated areas. Using mild products and avoiding harsh exfoliants or aggressive skincare routines immediately after treatment can help support a comfortable recovery.

Makeup and skincare

After receiving Botox injections, it is generally recommended to wait several hours before applying makeup or skincare products to allow the injection sites time to settle. When you resume your routine, apply products gently and avoid rubbing, pressing, or massaging the treated areas. Using clean hands and sanitized makeup tools can also help reduce the risk of irritation or infection.

If you experience temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, or sensitivity after treatment, your provider may recommend waiting longer before returning to your full skincare or makeup routine.

Sleeping position

After Botox injections, it is recommended to avoid placing pressure on the treated areas immediately after treatment. Sleeping on your side or face right after Botox may create unnecessary pressure on the injection sites, so many providers suggest keeping your head elevated and avoiding direct contact with treated areas during the initial hours after your appointment.

For the first night, sleeping on your back may help prevent accidental pressure on the treated areas while the Botox begins to settle. After the initial recovery period, most clients can typically return to their normal sleeping positions unless their provider recommends otherwise based on their specific treatment plan.

Heat and exercise

After Botox injections, it is recommended to avoid saunas, hot tubs, and excessive heat exposure for approximately 24–48 hours. High temperatures can increase blood flow, swelling, or bruising around the treated areas, so limiting heat exposure during the early recovery period may help support optimal results.

During the first day or two after treatment, it is best to avoid activities that significantly raise your body temperature, including hot environments and intense workouts. Choosing lukewarm showers instead of very hot water and following your provider’s specific recommendations can help minimize irritation and support proper healing.
